The Jarome Iginla song |
| Edit: I added lyrics in the info and changed the picture that shows up for this video, but it\’s the same one! Now it\’s just that it\’ll show Jarome instead of Steve Nash, hahah. Hey guys, this is the Jarome Iginla song turned into a video! The song, unfortunately, is not mine, for all credit should go to Mike Richards and Calgary\’s fan960. You can download the SONG at www.fan960.com along with more funny stuff. Enjoy and Go Flames Go!! Lyrics: (I typed them up myself to the best of my ability, if you see a correction, just send me a message or leave a comment and I\’ll fix it!!) Jarome Iginla (x3) 50 goals Hey hey! Jarome Iginla (x3) 50 goals Hes got Olympic Gold, Hes young, not very old! He is a Flame! And has size 14 shoes! He has a lot of cash, His friend is Steven Nash! He is a guy, Who likes Chiclets, The gum! Hey hey hey! Hey Jarome Iginla! He is a hockey player, Not working as a waiter, Does not take the elevator, Not afraid of alligators! Scores some goals, Hey knows Bob Cole! And gets a lot of girls! Jarome Iginla (x3) 50 goals (Words in background, mostly incomprehensible to me) Jarome Iginla (fades out) |

Penguins’ Gonchar Played With Torn MCL.
Showing the true meaning of the word “trooper”, Sergey Gonchar reportedly played the final 2 rounds of the playoffs with a torn MCL. “Lots of guys were playing with bruises,” Gonchar said. Bruises are a far cry from a torn MCL. Kudos to you Gonchar, not get that MCL fixed up!
Bylsma Likes Back-To-Back Chances
Speaking like a coach who just won the Stanley Cup (shock horror), Dan Bylsma has said that he likes the idea of the Penguins coming back strong next year to win back-to-back Cups. “Pressure is something I don’t put a lot of stock in,” Bylsma said. “I think we can get back to the foundation and build again and try to do this again. It’s only one team a year that gets that opportunity and we’re going to try that next year. The challenge is you have to start all over again. You don’t get to start back on June 13.” That hasn’t been done since ‘97/’98 by the Detroit Red Wings. It’s just dripping in irony.
Crosby Dismisses Wings Snub Accusation
First of all, of course he dismisses it. You would have to be an idiot to actually admit it. After Kris Draper came out and accused Crosby of snubbing the Red Wings after their game 7 win, the attention went directly onto the young Penguins Captain. Crosby however wasn’t fazed at all. “I really don’t need to talk to anyone from Detroit about it,” Crosby said Sunday. “I made the attempt to go shake hands. I’ve been on that side of things, too, I know it’s not easy, waiting around. I just won the Stanley Cup, and I think I have the right to celebrate with my teammates.”
Malkin wins Conn Smythe, Joins Mario
He led the entire playoffs in points and had an impact on the game, and deservedly came away with the hardware. Evgeni Malkin was awared the Conn Smythe award for Playoff MVP. He joins Mario Lemieux in the long list of Conn Smythe winners.

PITTSBURGH (AP)—Pittsburgh Penguins fans have been lining up along the Stanley Cup victory parade route since dawn and police say they’re prepared even if the crowd is as big as the one that turned out for a Super Bowl victory parade in February.
The Penguins’ parade begins at noon Monday and will cover the same route that drew an estimated 300,000 fans to the city two days after the Steelers won Super Bowl XLIII.
The Penguins won the franchise’s third Stanley Cup on Friday with a 2-1 victory in the seventh game of the finals in Detroit.
Players and coaches are expected to address the crowd at a stage erected at the end of the parade route downtown.

One of the biggest surprises this season has been the shocking start by the Dallas Stars.
Always a solid defensive team which dominated on both the power play and penalty kill, the Stars this season have been anything but good.
Sitting at the bottom of the West for much of the season, many are wondering if they have what it takes to bounce back and make the top eight.
Sadly, the Stars are without solid power-forward and captain Brenden Morrow and the ageless puck-moving master of the blue line, Sergei Zubov. As such, their power play has lacked power and their penalty kill has been riddled with more holes than a war-torn building.
But there is hope. Now that the Avery situation is a thing of the past, the team looks to be bouncing back. They’re 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, and have moved up three spots on the ladder to be just three points out of the top eight. Parity truly is their friend this season.
Most people would agree that the Stars have the line-up, and the potential to get a big streak going and dominate the latter part of the season. Marty Turco must have gone hunting lately as he appears to have found his game.
Brad Richards is leading the team with his quality playmaking and the youngsters Loui Eriksson and James Neal have stepped up to impress even the most negative of Stars fans.
Let’s not forget Mike Modano, either. At 38 he’s playing like he’s in his 20s. Each shift he takes he does so with passion and a die-hard attitude that screams “never say die”. Best of all, he smiles.
You can see that he’s enjoying the game again, and it’s showing in his game. He’s stepped up take on an offensive role after being in a checking role for the last season or so.
On the blue line, Robidas and Daley are leading by example, and the young guys, Grossman and Niskanen are improving their games.
And what of Fabian Brunnstrom, you may ask? He’s getting his game on also. Inconsistent maybe, but when you watch him play and you watch him score you see he’s a pure goal scorer. He has the type of natural talent you see in players like Kovalchuk, Hossa and Ovechkin.
He’s working on his defensive game, and is working his way into a more prominant role on this team. Give him time, i have no doubt he’ll be a force on this team in the coming year or so.
So the question is… can they do it? Can they come out of this hole they find themselves in and ride a solid challenge for the Cup?
Of course they can. I firmly believe teams like Detroit and San Jose are probably watching the Stars carefully, because they know all too well what this team can do if it gets it’s game on.

Peter Pocklington is well known in hockey circles, being the owner of the Edmonton Oilers during their glory days of the 80’s.
At an auction recently, Pocklington sold off a range of hockey memorabilia at auction. The value of the sales is believed to be worth $294,269 US.
Included in the sale are 5 Stanley Cup Rings (84, 85, 87, 88 & 90), 3 Edmonton Trappers PCL Rings (84, 96 & 97), a 1987 Clarence Campbell Bowl replica and a 1985 Miniature Stanley Cup.
“It’s just memorabilia,” Pocklington told the Edmonton Journal. “I remember being there in real life and those memories will last forever.
“To look at a hunk of gold, that I keep in a safe most of the time anyway, every five years, doesn’t make much sense,” he said. “I’d just as soon use that money and the interest on it to look after my grandchildren.”
- Pocklington auctions off his Stanley Cup rings
Pocklington isn’t new to the sales game of course. He is the man who sold Wayne Gretzky to the Los Angeles Kings, and in past years has sold other items at auction, including another Stanley Cup miniature and a replica of the Clarence Bowl.

The San Jose Sharks have hired a new head coach. Todd McLellan, formerly an assistant coach with the Stanley Cup winning Detroit Red Wings will be formerly announced as the new head coach on Thursday.
“It’s a very good feeling,” McLellan said in a statement released by the team. “From the first moment Doug called to the moment he offered the job, I felt comfortable. I think the Sharks have done a tremendous job. You don’t get that close to 50 wins for a number of years in a row without a lot of talent. It’s a matter of getting over the hump. There are some real parallels between the Wings and the Sharks.”
- NHL – Yahoo! Sports
The Sharks hope that McLellan, who has experience with cup winning teams will help take the Sharks all the way.
