As the first round of the Playoffs are well underway we’re seeing some surprising matches play out. Nashville have won 2 games against the red hot Red Wings. Dallas lead the defending champion, Anaheim Ducks 3-2 and of course, Pittsburgh Penguins, led by Sidney Crosby have swept the Ottawa Senators 4-0.

The game was amazing, but the atmosphere was even more amazing. I suggest any big hockey fan, especially a flyers fan, tries to make it to at least 1 playoff game at some point in the lives. It’s well worth it.

A week ago who would have thought that the Anaheim Ducks would be on the edge of playoff elimination in game 5 against the Dallas Stars. All but die-hard Dallas Fans appeared to have that much confidence in this Stars team, but they went out and they battled hard.
After 3 disappointing first round playoff exits, the Stars have finally found their game.
NHL Disciplinarian Colin Campbell announced today that Chris Pronger of the Anaheim Ducks will receive an 8 game suspension after stomping on the calf of Vancouver Canuck Ryan Kesler.
What does that make Pronger, who now has been suspended 8 times in his career. Surely we don’t need to remind you of last season where he received 2 suspensions during the playoffs for rough / dirty play, including that elbow to the head of Dean McAmmond in the Stanley Cup Finals.
