There have been a lot of moves between the NHL and minor leagues lately, mostly due to injuries. In addition to these there have also been a few other moves.
- Dion Phaneuf signed a 6 year extension with the Calgary Flames. Terms of the contract have not been released.
- Jason Chimera signed a 4 year extension with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Terms were not released.
- Darren McCarty was signed to a Minor League Contract in the AHL (Grand Rapids)
- The Carolina Hurricanes traded AHL Defenseman J.D. Forrest to the San Jose Sharks for future considerations.
